EXPERIENCED bartender needed at upscale Sheepherder Bar and Grille. Must have at least 1 year of bartending experience, preferably in a fine dining experience. You will need to be punctual, organized behind the bar and with your money, honest, have a good clientele, and be an optimistic people-person. Extensive liquor knowledge is a must! Drinks range from draft beer to blended pina coladas, fresh muddled mojitos and signature martinis. Happy hour can be busy and you will need to be able to handle a bar of 20+ people, make drinks for the servers, make change for the servers, wash your dishes etc. Serving experience is extremely helpful because we do sometimes have the bartender help servers in the main dining room if the bar is slow. You will also be ordering food and running it to your bar patrons, so full menu knowledge is expected. POS knowledge is also helpful, but we will train. Wine knowledge is also very important. You should know the basic characteristics of common wine: sparkling wine, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, pinot grigio, merlot, pinot noir and cabernet. Shifts are either from 10:30-3:30 pm or 3:30-close (9 or 10pm). You would typically work 3-4 shifts per week. We have a lot of fun at our restaurant and are looking for a fun, experienced bartender to be part of our team.
