In Bartending News & Tidbits
7Jun 08 Really, this practice is nothing new, but with the increasing price of hops among other things drivng up the price of beer, many bars are turning to using “cheater” glasses that appear just like a “real” 16 oz pint glass, but actually only hold 14 oz. ——————- Four-dollar-a-gallon gasoline may be a cause for outrage. But it pales next to the righteous fury provoked by five-dollar-a-pint beer. Beer prices at bars and restaurants have risen over the past few months, as prices of hops and barley have skyrocketed and retail business has slowed alongside the economy. Some restaurants have replaced 16-ounce pint glasses with 14 ouncers — a type of glassware one bartender called a “falsie.” Source: http://online.wsj.com:80/article/SB121279252381153273.html?mod=googlenews_wsj |
